ABC Distortions a disservice to America

Mr. Iger,

I am writing you this evening to express my concern over ABC’s intention to air “The Path to 9/11.” Some say “The Path to 9/11” contains numerous, serious inaccuracies that will misinform the American people about the events leading up to September 11, 2001. You must not allow this to happen on any day, but certainly not in conjunction with the anniversary of one of the most tragic events in American history.

Your network claims that the show is based on the 9/11 Commission Report yet the content is factually and provably inaccurate. Quoted in the NY Times on September 6, 2006 Richard Clarke, the former counter-terrorism czar, and a national security advisor to ABC, described the program as "deeply flawed" and even Thomas Kean has admitted scenes in the film were fictionalized (NY Times September 6, 2006).

Why will you allow this deeply flawed program to pollute America's public airways? Is there a master deemed greater than verity for whom you serve? It certainly appears that way. Will it now be the tradition that ABC distorts, misleads and lies about events in order to serve a political agenda? Is that really what you want for the ABC and Disney brands? If so, I will have none of it. Going forward I will not support Disney, ABC or it’s sponsors should this travesty air on your network.

The American people deserve better than this from ABC. It is unconscionable to mislead the American public about one of the most horrendous tragedies our country has ever known. Do the right thing Mr Iger and pull this distortion from your schedule.
