Random thoughts on Saturday.
“There is no hope, but we will try to have no fear.” Mary Chestnut on the fall of Atlanta in 1864.

Boing Boing is the silliest thing, but I am addicted. Without it I’d never have discovered "Big Buck Bunny" or gotten my copy of David Sedaris’ When You Are Engulfed In Flames this week instead of further down the road. Steampunk, retro and gadgets galore rule over a zine (it’s a blog, but for me it’s more like a zine) that reflects much of art and culture on the internet.
XM Radio is a test. There’s the music stations and that’s good. Then there’s the cable TV feeds where schlock rules during the local intermissions. You know the interruptions used to sell you fat removers or whatever on a station you’re paying for the right to watch, or in the case of XM listen to. I was involved in the earliest of pay TV efforts so I am culpable, but I can’t see the justification for the “double jeopardy” of ads on pay entities. But then, I can’t rationalize as well as some people.
